Ballet Nacional de Cuba performing at the Kennedy Center May 29th to June 3rd

The internationally-renowned Cuban National Ballet is returning to the Opera House stage at the Kennedy Center, accompanied by the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra, May 29th to June 3rd.

The performances will mark the company’s 40th anniversary of its U.S. debut at the Kennedy Center, while gracing its stage for the first time since 2011.

May 29th and 30th will feature the company’s acclaimed version of Don Quixote, and May 31st to June 3rd they will perform Giselle, a ballet for which Alicia Alonso, primera ballerina absoluta and founder/Artistic Director of the company, earned much fame and attention during her dancing days.

Alicia Alonso’s company is famous for it’s unique Cuban style and footwork, strong dancers, and impressive technique.

These performances will close the “Artes de Cuba: From the Island to the World” festival, which will open Kennedy Center on May 8th and will allow visitors to appreciate the best of Cuban visual arts, film, dance, theater, and cuisine, while showcasing the work of more than 200 Cuban artists.
